Two-time major winner Johnson flies exclusively with Magellan and has recruited 4Aces team-mates Patrick Reed, Pat Perez and Harold Varner III to promote the company and host experiences for its customers.

Johnson, the 2016 US Open champion and 2020 Masters winner, said his time is at a “premium” between golf, business and family and described the partnership as the “perfect fit”.

Magellan Jets recently became the private aviation provider of the Boston Red Sox and hired Todd Goldstein to expand its sports and entertainment division.

The company offers jet card ownership, membership, on-demand charter and aircraft sales and management services. 

The 4Aces is one of 13 teams competing in LIV Golf, the league which operates outside the more established PGA Tour and the DP World Tour.

Edmiston will be responsible for promoting Gulfstream’s range and supporting the manufacturer’s clients throughout the region.

By drawing on Edmiston’s local expertise, the partnership will help the business jet manufacturer grow its presence in the key market of the UK, said Scott Neal, senior vice president Worldwide Sales, Gulfstream.

“Edmiston is well-respected in their industry and was an excellent partner choice given their strong customer relationships and shared focus on sustainability,” added Neal.

Founded by chairman Nicholas Edmiston in 1996, the luxury yacht brokerage is headed by Jamie Edmiston (pictured left) and operates in London at the Edmiston London Heliport and at Farnborough Airport, UK. Gulfstream opened its service centre at Farnborough Airport in 2020.

Meanwhile, last week Gulfstream revealed its deliveries dropped in the first quarter (Q1) of this year to 21 aircraft delivered, compared with the 25 jets delivered in Q1 2022.

In 2022, Magellan Jets flew the Dominican baseball legend to his Hall of Fame induction ceremony and raised $144,000 to support The Red Sox Foundation and the David Ortiz Children’s Fund.

Bestfly, which has experience in serving the oil and gas industry in Angola, said it will provide BFK Aviation partners with “aircraft operational know-how”. Meanwhile, Addis Ababa-headquartered flight support, charter, and aviation consultancy Krimson Aviation will provide ground support and maintenance services.

Krimson Aviation and Bestfly, under the leadership of Dawit Lemma and Nuno Pereira respectively, have been focused on growing the business aviation sector across Africa. The firms said the decision to start a new joint venture was driven by the intent to support the growth of business aviation in emerging markets.

“We want to harness this very specific knowledge and understanding to support stakeholders in nations that want to maximise the sector’s benefits but are still at the early stages of development,” says Lemma, CEO, Krimson Aviation. 

The first partnership agreement of the new venture has already been signed, with Georgetown, Guyana-based operator, Xen Aviation. BFK Aviation will support Xen Aviation’s flight and ground services.

“We’re excited for what the future holds for us, BFK and the business aviation sector in our region,” said Ronaldo Alphonso, MD, Xen Aviation. “Working with BFK Aviation will add value to our existing operations and support the development of new standard operating procedures.”

The signing of the partnership follows the Guyana Energy Expo, held in Georgetown in February this year. The firms said there has been rapid growth in the oil and gas sectors in the region, which is driving the increased demand for rotary and fixed-wing operations too.

The company will be the named sponsor for all Grand Prix VIP shows and other events throughout the year at the venue.  

The deal also entails that two events hosted at the venue during the 2023 show season will be named as the Wheels Up Grand Prix.

Wheels Up added that the partnership provides a valuable option for those looking to attend events at the venue, as there are no commercial flight options to Ocala.

The WEC, Ocala is an equestrian sports venue and hotel complex. With nearly around 378 acres of land, the Ocala site is the largest equestrian complex in the US. WEC said it also has another 300 acres it plans to use for further expansion.  It also has another facility in Wilmington, Ohio.

The equine industry is big business in the US. According to the American Horse Council’s 2018 Economic Impact Study, it contributes a cool $50bn in direct economic impact to the US economy, creating 988,394 jobs.

It also provides $38bn in wages, salaries, and benefits. From those direct effects, the horse industry’s contribution to the US economy totals around $122bn, and a total employment impact of 1.7m jobs.

The two companies will exchange expertise in aviation, travel and hospitality services, paving the way for potential further collaborations in future. Luxaviation will support TMG, HAA and other subsidiaries with operational capability, networks and relationships with aviation authorities.

TMG and its subsidiaries will support Luxaviation with IT, digital marketing and flight operations. The deal sets out Luxaviation’s intention to help HAA in selling aircraft block hours through its distribution channels and to support TMG in building relationships with key financial institutions and decision-makers. Luxaviation will also consider using TMG and subsidiaries’ services, given their experience in travel, hospitality, online booking and aviation.
